An exceptional opportunity for an entrepreneurial, motivated, and knowledgeable individual with
experience in greenhouse plant or hydroponics production. We are seeking a Farm Manager and Head Grower to join our team to lead the strategic direction and day–‐to–‐day activities of growing operations.
The Farm Manager and Head Grower will have expertise that encompasses greenhouse system design, plant nutrition, crop and pest management, greenhouse IT systems, software, sensors and controls, and staff training. The candidate must also understand the commercial produce marketplace.
Our greenhouse will grow a market–‐driven combination of vegetables (e.g. lettuce, tomatoes, and herbs) for sale into the local and regional marketplace.
The position will be responsible for supporting company expansion goals and managing the entire
operation of greenhouse.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for the entire growing process from seeding to transplanting to insect control
Oversee and direct the entire greenhouse staff
Determine staffing needs and support recruiting and hiring process
Be fully familiar with hydroponic and traditional soil systems
Responsible for product quality
Job Requirements
Growing for more than 7 years and at least 2 years commercial grow experience
Knowledge of large scale commercial plant cultivation including nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, air flow, etc.
Knowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, as well as plant treatment options
Physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper
management of a greenhouse
Must have accountability, proactive behavior, self–‐motivation, and strong attention to detail
