Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Controlled Environmental Agriculture Division (CEA Division) at Griffin provides solutions to growers producing medicinal and edible crops under cover, both in greenhouses and indoor grow facilities. This quickly expanding, investor-driven, diverse market is an unprecedented level of activity to horticulture. The CEA Junior Sales Representative is an entry level position to a rewarding career in a truly exciting arena. This person will be trained and groomed to move into a full CEA Sales Representative role by learning to service the needs of the most innovative and entrepreneurial organizations in horticulture, both in edible and medicinal crops. This role will include providing support to the existing CEA sales team from Griffin headquarters in Tewksbury, MA, while learning the sales role. Advancement into a full CEA Sales Representative role will bring a territory based in the New England area.
Job Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
Previous experience in, or exposure to, the horticultural industry is desirable. Candidates with a degree or training in Controlled Environment Agriculture, horticultural food cropping systems or hands-on experience in these areas will be given stronger preference. Knowledge of crop protection, BCAs, and fertilizers is desirable. Four year college degree in Horticulture or Business Management preferred. Sales experience beneficial. Must possess the skills required to work in a fast-paced environment where a high level of pressure and stress may be involved.
