GreenCubes is an early-stage, high-growth startup developing smart, passive solar greenhouses for decentralized food production. Our tight-knit, cross functional team seeks an intellectually curious, hard-working, ethically aligned individual to join at the founder-level as we build, steward, and scale our unique product.

We’re searching for an exceptional full stack software engineer with experience in back-end development on a variety of languages and frameworks. This Founding Member – Full Stack Software Engineer will design and build across every level of our tightly integrated hardware and software ecosystem. Our engineers are equal parts architect, problem solver, implementer, and experience designer.

Tech environment

Open Source fanatics using Golang, TypeScript, Rust (WASM), Docker, Dgraph, Git, GitLab CI/CD, IonicFramework, Clarity (STX), MobileCoin, GraphQL, and deeply integrated code correctness and documentation practices i.e. Test//Documentation Driven Development.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the CTO to design, develop, and deploy back end applications to support a fleet of modern web2.0 and web3.0 enabled smart greenhouses.
• Assist in estimation, planning, and project management to maintain sync between technical implementation and product requirements.
• Set a stellar example of continuous learning and growth by mentoring other engineers via code reviews and occasional pair programming.
• Engage in frequent cross-functional communication and collaboration to build beautiful, reliable, well-supported products that our customers love.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry experience
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science or related field
• Experience with components of above listed tech environment
• Habitual practice of code validation, testing for correctness, and documenting features as they are designed and developed
• Able to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities
• Detail-orientation with strong organization skills
• Passion for challenging the status quo and solving problems creatively
• Effective verbal and written communication across all levels
• Willing to work long hours including evenings and weekends – this commitment is recognized by equity in kind
• Preferred: Direct experience with web3.0 application development, leveraging smart contracts (i.e. solidity, or better yet, clarity and STX ecosystem), distributed identity, payments, and data persistence via blockchains or DHTs
• Preferred: Love for kubernetes and/or balenaOS

As a co-founder, you’ll receive owners’ equity and the same salary as the rest of us ($60,000), along with an assortment of benefits including unlimited PTO and platinum medical and dental coverage.
