The People Operations Specialist position offers a unique opportunity for an individual to oversee a variety of tasks which are critical to the success of both current and prospective employees in our organization. This individual will play a pivotal role in helping to apply strategic, innovative recruitment and Human Resources strategies designed to meet our hiring and retention plan in the next year for our rapidly growing organization. The role provides an opportunity for an individual to work across multiple functions and teams and leverage their full skill set while fostering enhanced success for the organization by creating an inspiring employee experience. This position is full-time (exempt) and reports to the Operations Manager; the position will be based in Sacramento/Davis, CA. This individual will be an integral part of the operations team and this role is highly collaborative, which requires a demonstrated ability to coordinate projects with cross-functional teams and independently manage various processes and schedules to meet project goals.
Major Responsibilities
Provides excellent internal customer service by responding to employee requests and questions with an attention to detail and high-level touch
Oversee full life cycle recruitment across all Unfold teams and levels starting with drafting job descriptions all the way to new hire orientation
Educate candidates on our company, philosophy, work culture, total rewards, and act as a key representative of Unfold and its mission in the agricultural and tech space
Provide candidates and hiring managers with frequent and timely communication throughout the recruitment process while continually engaging in recruitment process improvement
Foster good relationships with potential candidates and past by maintaining an ongoing dialogue and building pipelines for future needs
Keep recruiting system up to date for all requisitions and candidates and monitor scorecard completions, candidate response timelines, and target offer dates
Coordinate all hiring processes post-offer, ensure new hire onboarding logistics are arranged, and perform first day orientation
Co-lead the implementation and continuity of the Unfold DEI approach and program
Manage corporate training system by developing employee profiles, training assignments, and maintaining records
Maintain all employee files and ensure consistency in tracking for completion
Manage the Unfold employee recognition program, capturing all nominations and drawings, and issuing rewards
Manage calendar invitations for monthly All Hands employee staff meetings and assist in coordinating event logistics onsite
In collaboration with the Operations Manager, stay up to date on latest Human Resources strategies and trends for fostering the best possible work environment
Handle ad hoc projects for the Operations team
Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, and/or Program Management at high-growth companies
Previous experience with developing or performing recruiting initiatives as well as DE&I recruitment
Proficiency with Mac systems and Apple products
Strong communication (written/verbal) skills
Proactive individual with willingness to build a program with autonomy
Must have a sense of urgency, expert at managing multiple tasks, deadlines, and projects
Detail oriented, high level of follow through pertaining to processes and procedures
Strong multi-tasker: you can manage multiple projects across multiple teams, disciplines, and locations
Must be a people person who is devoted to providing exceptional service, and passionate about creating lasting, meaningful relationships
You’re naturally curious and driven which you fuel into your ability to source passive talent and tailor your efforts to different individuals and company needs
Demonstrated ability to practice discretion and confidentiality
Desired Qualifications
Direct experience working in a start-up environment, or a mature appreciation for the opportunities and challenges arising in such an environment
Experience with recruiting software such a Greenhouse and HR providers such as Gusto
Experience with performing market research on various HR topics (benefit plans, HR software systems, recruiting and compensation strategies, etc.)
Have a passion for improving the food system and promoting sustainability
Ability to craft a well-structured proposal outlining financial implications, (dis)advantages of various alternatives and a clear recommendation
The pay range for this position allow for a salary range of $65,000 – $77,00/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
