Graduate Student. Iowa State University. Ames, IA. August 2018-Present

Executed research in controlled environment agriculture. The studies focused on determining the effects of electrical conductivity of nutrient solution and effects of light intensity on growth of specialty leafy greens.

 

Graduate Research Assistant. Iowa State University. Ames, IA. May 2018-October 2020

Assisting graduate students and professors with on-farm research during the growing season. Additional responsibilities included planting, weeding, harvesting, field preparation, tractor operation, food safety training.

 

Intern/Assistant Grower. Davis Floral, Dewy Rose, GA. January 2018-April 2018

Responsible for 36,000ft² of herbaceous ornamental crop production under glass. Created schedules for and administered pesticide and PGR applications.

Plant pathology extension for southeast fruit and citrus operations, assessed various disease control programs, collaborated with growers, and assisted in diagnosing causes of crop loss.

Assisted in ornamental plant breeding program, rooting and propagation of hibiscus, preparation and sanitation for tissue culture, and general laboratory maintenance.

Used ImageJ to size particles and identify hazardous material, utilized SEM, TEM, and Polarized Light Microscopes for asbestos and other organic contaminants.
