WORK EXPERIENCE (1996 -2017)
FARM ACTIVITIES
Production in charge for green house and farm in vegetable block.
Production in charge for commercial production of mushroom and bio control agents.
Worked as Farm professor in charge for the 150 acres of ground nut, sesame,
pulses and 70 acres of orchard.
Served as Assistant Farm manager for the 255 acres of sugarcane farm. (1996-1999).
Worked as Farm Manager for the black cotton soil farm and chilies block (1995-96).
Works include preparation of land, planting, irrigation, fertigation, plant
protection activities, harvesting schedule and storage.
Labour management including muster roll, allocation of labourers, fixing
target, preparation of pay roll and farm implements maintenance.
Writing and submitting weekly and monthly sales report, collection and outstanding report as well
as weather parameters.
RESEARCH AREAS AND DUTIES:
In charge of Plant Pathology laboratory- Pathogen cultures collection, identification,
purifications, multiplication, maintenance/ preservation, lab equipment maintenance etc.
Screening of breeding materials, hybrids against target disease as per the set
protocol in controlled and field conditions.
Associated with the breeding and genetics team for identifying disease resistant sources
/ selections from segregating populations, marker development and validation in different
disease resistant projects for the development of disease resistant hybrids.
Co-ordinated with related departments for services like disease diagnostics,
recommending plant protection measures & its training.
Co-ordinator for multi- location disease screening trials/OFT trials in the state with
breeding, product evaluation and product biology teams.
Conducted the pathological experiments for screening of resistant sugarcane
varieties (Red rot disease screening, Smut screening).
Conducted AICRP Pathology field experiments in sugarcane, sesame, peanut and banana.
Conducted the greenhouse experiments and field experiments in capsicum and cotton.
Conducted the university experiments on the mechanism of action of VAMF as a
biological control agent for soil borne diseases of tomato and capsicum.
Conducted foliar fungicides and seed treatment trials for cotton and vegetables.
Conducted a research project on banana Erwinia rot and conducting campaign for the
management of Erwinia rot in GRAND NAINE banana variety.
TEACHING DUTIES:
Assisted Ph.D. students for their field experiments and laboratory experiments and acted
as Co-Chairman for their research studies.
Served as course teacher for UG and Diploma plant pathology course.
EXTENSION ACTIVITIES:
Conducting farmer’s meeting in the progressive farmer’s field about the promotion of
the new variety.
Served as training officer in charge for the crop protection unit to train the sugar factory
technical staffs viz., Assistant Cane Officer and Cane Officers both in Government
owned and private sectors sugar mills.
Conducted farmers training program in vegetable protection and production.
Participated in extension activities by introducing growers and field staffs to
diagnostic procedures.
Conducted IDM and organic farming training program to vegetable farmers.
